Modeling System Benefits in RiverWare
Matthew Wunsch—United States Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District

ABSTRACT
Tulsa District (SWT) is transitioning from legacy software that incorporates several models and utility files that we are currently implementing into RiverWare to calculate stage reduction benefits and reservoir project credit after system flood events.  RiverWare configuration allows us to model each of our basins using different methods to calculate incremental locals at control points.  Through the use of scripts we can use the same RiverWare model to then route observed and local flows through the system with all of our reservoirs "turned off" which allows us to calculate unregulated flow and stage hydrographs at control points of interest.  Results are then used to determine each project's volumetric holdout, and economic benefits can be distributed accordingly to each project.  RiverWare will also allow us to pass results into the CWMS CAVI for future development of FIA benefits analysis.
