Bringing the User’s Group Concept to a Local Level

Laura Blaylock

At the suggestion of a Texas user, representatives from water districts, municipalities, and private consulting firms met in Fort Worth, Texas in November of 2005 to share and explore reasons why RiverWare was chosen to represent a wide variety of surface water supply and flood control systems.  Many of the attendees were new to the RiverWare application, others had attended training and begun modeling with the software, while still another was interested in resurrecting a model that had languished for a couple of years. The meeting was very helpful in opening lines of communication between users on a local level, as well as generating interest in the range of modeling capabilities of the software.
