Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting concerns regarding public health, coupled with restrictions on travel, the Accelerated Combined course will be moving online with live instruction and group participation. We will be using the video-conferencing platform Zoom (https://zoom.us).
The class will be extended to encompass 5 days, and will start Monday, June 8 at 9am MDT and end Friday, June 12 by 4pm.
Here is a draft agenda, with scheduled times for presentations and group sessions. The schedule allows some flexibility in the amount of time spent working on and completing the tutorial exercises.
As part of the preparation for the class, we will ship a training manual to each registered attendee and make sure each has required resources, including a temporary RiverWare license and needed files.

| Course Description |

This course is an introduction to RiverWare's two most commonly used solution techniques - Simulation and Rulebased Simulation - and many of its utilities, output features and diagnostics. It is an accelerated four-day class for those wishing to become familiar with a broad range of RiverWare's capabilities in a short amount of time.
You will learn how to build a model of the rivers, reservoirs, hydro plants, and other features of your basin, and to simulate the physical processes by selecting from a large number of alternative methods to tailor the simulation to your modeling needs. We will introduce the rulebased simulation solver and RiverWare's Policy Language and editor through an engaging group exercise in converting a basin's operating policy into a ruleset. We will demonstrate how to run the model, use diagnostics and run analysis tools, and view the results through plots, reports and policy analysis tools. You will configure and build a system control table, a spreadsheet-like view of the data that provides easy access to editing and running the model. We will introduce other modeling tools such as the Data Management Interface (DMIs), Multiple Run Management (MRM), and Scripting as time allows.
This course prepares the RiverWare user for both the Accounting class and Optimization class.

Class size is limited, so register as soon as possible. You are confirmed as soon as your payment is received. Class fee is $1600. A late fee of $150 is added for registration less than 1 week before the class begins.

Registrations are transferable, or refunds are available, if canceled a minimum of 10 days before the class start date. A 5% administrative fee will be assessed. |
