The first time you download and
install the RiverWare Viewer, you should follow the directions on this page and in the Download Guide,
and read through the referenced Installation Guide for your platform.
Once you have RiverWare and supporting software modules set up on your
machine, the simple procedure on this page is generally sufficient to install
an update.
Note: You can download and install the RiverWare Viewer before you
receive your RiverWare Viewer
License.

Download the current RiverWare release
Setup file by clicking the link below. Also print out the Installation
Guide document.

Download the current RiverWare Viewer
release "TAR" file by clicking (or "Right" clicking)
the link below.
You will also need to select to which location on your local file
system you would like to download the release. Download the release
into the directory you want to contain the RiverWare Viewer program
files (i.e. not to the parent directory of the desired directory).

Unpack the release you downloaded
by going to the directory and typing:
tar -xvf filename
where filename is the name of the "TAR" file you
just downloaded. This should create several new files, including a "MANIFEST,"
"riverware-install," and several "part000*" files. |

Install the release by running the
riverware-install script. Just type:
riverware-install
and follow the directions. |
