Abstract: A general river basin modeling environment for
operations and planning requires a high degree of software flexibility
to allow users to model any river basin, manage data input and output efficiently
enough for near real-time operations, and provide a selection of solution
algorithms, all through a user-friendly interface. RiverWare is an extensible,
maintainable software framework which provides a modeling environment to
meet all the modeling needs of managers and operators of river and reservoir
systems.
